Visiting Surgery

Visiting Surgery

I am offering an in-house peripatetic soft tissue surgery service.  This is done on the understanding that the clinic hosting the service are responsible for the post operative care, although I will provide written instructions to the clinicians on the standard care required and be available remotely for advice.  Each case will be subject to discussion in advance.  It will typically involve communication between the clinic and myself and a consultation with the owner remotely or face to face on the day.

Typical procedures that I offer on this basis are:

  • BOAS surgery (staphylectomy, rhinoplasty, everted ventricle removal)
  •  Tie-back
  •  TECA
  • VBO
  • Salivary mucocoele
  • Neck masses
  • Perineal hernia
  • Cholecystectomy (open surgery)

A surgical assistant is not usually necessary, but I am happy to involve someone if the clinic wishes.  Procedures requiring increased levels of post operative in-patient care are possible in certain circumstances: lung lobectomy, diaphragmatic hernia, extra hepatic PSS (an assistant is usually helpful for these).  I will advise on pre operative assessments as necessary.

If peripatectic surgery is also used to provide in-clinic training (preparing the team to operate independent of support in the future), this needs to be clear in advance as it affects the timing of the day and my interaction with key staff.

In the future I hope to be able to offer a fuller visiting endoscopy service in collaboration with a major supplier of endoscopic instrumentation.

Peripatectic surgery fees by agreement in advance.
